Tonight was windy, so the arena was noisy. The thing with Polly is that she isn’t very spooky, so when she is it’s weird. And when she does spook she simply turns her head in the direction of the noise and sidesteps away rather than running across the entire arena in a fit.
So tonight I got on and walked around, but I could tell something was bothering her, so I got off and hand-walked her. She is so cute when she’s scared, she really depends on me to comfort her. I hate when she gets scared, but it’s so sweet at the same time.
Anyways, she settled down, but I only rode for about ten minutes. I counted that as a “win” for the night. If there was a noise Polly would startle …or I would startle, but never both of us at the same time. I think that makes us a good pair.
It’s too bad my lesson was cancelled because my trainer would have been able to help me out with the situation. Oh well …
